Sanderson Brand History
Sanderson was founded when Arthur Sanderson began importing and selling fine French wallpaper from his premises in North London in 1860 before later setting up his own factory. The style and quality of the Sanderson wallpaper and paints was quickly recognised, leading to a Royal Warrant in 1924. The brand and designs are rich with beautiful florals as well as both scenes and nature common in the British countryside.
Although the overall Sanderson style may be considered quintessentially English collections and designs often draw inspiration from the early French wallpapers as well as other cultures and design traditions from further afield.
Sanderson also make the most of their one hundred and sixty years of history by calling upon their rich heritage of prints and designs, updating and reimagining them for a new audience. Sanderson is part of the wider Sanderson Design Group which includes other prestigious interior design brands.
