TM Interiors Sample Service

Order samples before you decide

We always recommend seeing a fabric, wallpaper, trimming or paint colour in your own space before committing to a larger purchase. Screen colours can vary, while texture, scale and finish are much easier to judge from a physical sample. Sample availability and pricing vary by brand and supplier, with the current price shown when ordering and confirmed at checkout.

How it works

Ordering a sample is straightforward

1

Browse the product

Find the fabric, wallpaper, trimming or paint colour you are considering.

2

Choose Add Sample

Where a sample is available, use the sample option on the product page.

3

Add to your basket

Order several options together so you can compare colour, scale and texture at home.

4

We request the samples

We do not hold sample stock ourselves. Samples are requested from the relevant suppliers and may arrive or be dispatched separately.

What can I sample?

Samples across our core interiors collections

Fabric

Standard fabric cuttings, lining samples and, for some collections, larger returnable pieces.

Shop fabric

Wallpaper

Wallpaper samples help you assess colour, print quality, finish and the scale of the pattern in your room.

Shop wallpaper

Trimmings

Braids, cords, fringes and other decorative trims can often be sampled where the manufacturer provides a cutting.

Shop trimmings

Paint

Sample pots or swatches are available from participating manufacturers and can be ordered from the relevant paint product pages.

Shop paint

Curtain poles and finish samples: we do not operate these as a general online sample service, but where poles or finishes form part of an active project we may be able to assist.

Why sample first?

A small sample can prevent an expensive mistake

Photography is useful for narrowing down ideas, but it cannot reproduce every colour, texture or surface accurately. Natural and artificial light can also change how a material appears throughout the day.

  • See how the colour behaves in morning, afternoon and artificial light.
  • Compare the material with flooring, paint, upholstery and existing furnishings.
  • Feel the actual texture, weight and surface finish.
  • Check whether the pattern scale works for your window, wall or furniture.
  • Use several samples together to create a physical moodboard.

A useful tip

Look at samples in the room where they will be used

A fabric or wallpaper can look quite different from one room to another. If possible, keep samples in the space for a day or two and look at them at different times of day.

For larger patterns, move the sample around the room and view it from a distance rather than judging it only close up.

Prices, postage & delivery

What will my samples cost and how long will they take?

We do not hold sample stock ourselves and rely on our suppliers having samples available to fulfil your request. Prices and delivery charges therefore vary depending on the products, brands and destination.

Sample priceSample prices vary by brand and supplier. The current price for each sample is shown when ordering and confirmed at checkout.
Sample-only ordersPostage is calculated according to the number of samples ordered and the delivery destination, with the applicable charge shown at checkout.
Samples with productsWhere samples are ordered together with standard products, no separate sample delivery charge is applied; the normal delivery charge for the product order will apply.
Larger multi-brand ordersWhere samples need to be requested from several different brands or suppliers, please allow approximately 10–14 days. Samples may occasionally arrive separately.

Availability is subject to supplier stock. If a manufacturer is temporarily unable to provide a particular sample, this may delay or prevent fulfilment of that item.

Sample sizes

How large are the samples?

Sample sizes vary by brand, collection and product. They are intended primarily to help assess colour, texture and finish rather than to show a complete repeat.

FabricFabric sample sizes vary by supplier but are generally approximately 10cm × 10cm.
WallpaperWallpaper samples can range from approximately A6 to A4 size, depending on the manufacturer and collection.
PaintUsually supplied as a small sample pot, colour card or peel-and-stick swatch depending on the manufacturer.

Where are my samples?

Why samples sometimes arrive separately

Unlike many stocked products, samples have to be requested from the relevant manufacturer or supplier. One order may therefore involve several suppliers, sometimes in different countries.

For larger orders containing samples from several brands or suppliers, please allow approximately 10–14 days. Samples may occasionally arrive separately.

If your samples are taking longer than expected, our team will be happy to check the order for you.

Larger fabric samples

Returnable samples are no longer available by post

Some manufacturers can provide larger returnable fabric lengths that are useful when a standard cutting does not show enough of the pattern or scale.

Because these samples are valuable and suppliers charge us if they are not returned, we no longer send returnable samples by post.

A returnable sample service may be available when visiting our interiors showroom and is subject to availability and a separate charge.

Showroom onlyReturnable fabric samples may be available as part of a showroom appointment or active interiors project.
Subject to availabilityNot every manufacturer or collection offers a larger returnable sample.
Separate chargeAny applicable charge will be confirmed before the returnable sample is arranged.

Sample service FAQs

A few useful things to know

Can I order samples directly from a product page?

Yes. Where sampling is available, use the Add Sample option on the relevant product page and add it to your basket.

Can I order several samples at once?

Yes. Comparing several options in the room is often the best way to make a confident decision.

Why does my sample look different from the website?

Screen settings, photography and room lighting all affect colour. This is one of the main reasons we recommend ordering a physical sample before purchasing fabric, wallpaper or paint.

Can you provide larger returnable fabric samples?

Returnable samples are no longer available by post. Where available, a larger returnable sample may be arranged when visiting our interiors showroom or as part of an active project, subject to a separate charge.

Can you help with samples for a made-to-measure project?

Yes. If you are already discussing curtains, Roman blinds, headboards or another project with TM Interiors, we can help identify the samples most useful for the specification.
