GP And J Baker fabrics, founded by brothers George Percival and James Baker, for well over a century have produced beautiful fabrics for the interiors market. Many of the print and weave designs in the collection have been adapted from the privately-owned textile archive and explore today's transitional tastes and colour palettes using their unique 'handwriting.' Their GP and J Baker Artisan fabric collection is launched in 2015 celebrating the art of hand block prints, which followed on from their Langdale range. In 2016 they lunched the Rio Velvets range while only two designs they capture the glorious exuberance of the Mardi Gras in their designs. Since then the award winning Historic Royal Palaces fabric range draws inspiration from their amazing stories and has resulted in a collection of wonderful designs relevant for home interiors of today. Iconic buildings including that span thousands of years GP and J Baker re-interpreted these historic landmarks and took elements of spectacular gardens, architecture and interiors and developed some magnificent decorative prints and embroideries, shimmering silks, supple velvets and a range of stunning weaves. Then East to West, inspired by its own renowned archive, which is full of the most wonderful textile treasures, gave them the impetus to create this magnificent collection from. The East to West Fabrics range is a homage to the enduring fascination with the riches of the East brought to Europe by intrepid traders over many centuries.
