Why we use information
We only use personal information where we have a lawful basis. The basis depends on what we are doing with the information.
Direct marketing: you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. You also have the right to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.
Payments
Online payments are processed using PayPal/Braintree. Payment providers may process payment credentials, transaction information, device information and fraud/risk information in accordance with their own privacy terms.
We receive the information needed to confirm and administer your transaction, but payment providers operate parts of the payment service under their own legal responsibilities.
Service providers
We only share personal information where reasonably necessary to operate the website, fulfil orders, provide services, communicate with customers, meet legal obligations or protect the business.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the website to function, for example to support security, shopping basket, checkout and account features.
Other technologies may be used for preferences, analytics and marketing. These can include services such as Google Analytics, FullStory and Google Ads.
Non-essential cookies are subject to your cookie choices. You can review or change those choices using the site's Manage Cookie Preferences control.
Cookie technologies and provider names can change as website services are updated. The consent manager should be treated as the current on-site control for enabling or disabling optional categories.
International processing
Some of the service providers we use operate internationally or may process information outside the UK.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take the steps required by applicable UK data-protection law. Depending on the destination and provider, this may include reliance on UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.
Retention
Customer account and order records are generally retained for six years where needed for accounting, tax, contractual, warranty, dispute or business-record purposes.
Other personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of legal, regulatory, operational and security requirements.
Marketing information is retained until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent, object where applicable, or the information is no longer needed. Cookie retention varies by cookie and provider.
We may retain information for longer where required by law, where a dispute or legal claim is ongoing, or where another legitimate retention requirement applies.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
No website, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we assess and respond to it in accordance with our legal obligations.
Your information
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis we rely on, you may have rights to:
Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Ask us to delete personal information in circumstances where the law gives you that right.
Ask us to restrict how personal information is used in certain circumstances.
Object to certain processing based on legitimate interests and object at any time to direct marketing.
Ask for certain information to be provided in a portable format where this right applies.
If we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.
To exercise a right, email info@tm-interiors.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information correctly, you can make a data-protection complaint directly to TM Interiors.
Email info@tm-interiors.co.uk with “Data Protection Complaint” in the subject line and include enough information for us to understand and investigate the issue.
We will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days, take appropriate steps to investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed where appropriate and tell you the outcome.
If you remain dissatisfied, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
