TM Interiors is an independent, family-run interiors business founded by Tom McAlpin in 1975. Today we combine designer fabrics, wallpapers and furnishings with specialist advice, made-to-measure craftsmanship and a physical showroom.
Based in Peterborough, working across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire, Greater London and internationally.

From Lincoln Road to TM Interiors today
TM Interiors began in 1975 when Tom McAlpin opened his first shop on Lincoln Road in Millfield, at a time when the area was regarded as one of Peterborough’s principal shopping streets.
Tom had previously served an apprenticeship at Baxter’s furniture store in Whittlesey and brought that grounding in furniture and interiors into the new business. In the early years he worked alongside fitter Barry Munns, while developing the company’s reputation for practical advice, service and workmanship.
From the beginning, the business developed relationships with specialist fabric houses and offered bespoke interior services. TM Interiors later became part of the Greendale group of independent retailers, another chapter in a business that has continually evolved while remaining independently and family run.

Choice matters, but so does knowing how a material will actually work in a room. We help customers compare pattern, scale, colour, texture and suitability — whether the starting point is one roll of wallpaper, a fabric for a headboard or an entire made-to-measure scheme.

Made-to-measure work has been part of TM Interiors from the early years and remains central to the business today. The aim is not simply to sell a fabric, but to help turn the right material into something properly proportioned and specified for the room.
From curtains and Roman blinds to upholstered headboards and cushions, each project starts with practical decisions around dimensions, fabric, lining, finish and how the piece needs to perform in the space.

Appointments are preferred so we can understand what you are looking for, prepare relevant collections where possible and make sure the right person is available to help.
Peterborough remains our physical base, but our work and customer relationships extend across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire, Greater London and internationally.
