Order a sample where offered on the product page and compare it with your fabric in the room’s daylight and evening lighting. Check the tape’s width, texture and flexibility as well as its colour. A small sample may not show a full repeat, so consult the product imagery too.
Ask your maker to calculate the length, allowing for motif alignment, joins and corners. For made-to-measure curtains, Roman blinds or cushions, send us the fabric and tape references with a sketch of the intended placement. Decorative Tape FAQs
Is decorative tape the same as curtain heading tape?
No. This selection focuses on visible decorative trims applied to furnishings. Curtain heading tape serves a different purpose at the top of a curtain; a decorative tape should not be treated as a substitute.
What is the difference between tape, braid and border?
Supplier terminology overlaps. A decorative tape can create a border, and some similar finishes are sold as braid. Compare the product construction, dimensions and intended placement; our Braids page offers further decorative designs.
Can decorative tape turn around corners?
It depends on the design, flexibility and pattern. Ask your maker whether to fold, mitre or join the selected tape, and how the motif will meet. Agree this before calculating the quantity.
