Trellis Wallpapers, or diaper patterns, have been around for many years and used to pattern wallpapers over the centuries. A trellis wallpaper is often referred to having a geometric wallpaper, however most trellis patterns can often enclose small motifs. They also provide a ground for, and are often interlaced with, different types of plant-form or floral imagery. However sometimes these geometric patterns remain unembellished and take on the natural form of the diagonal trellis pattern. Trellis designs were featured in the Rococo and Gothic interiors of the 18th Century some even flocked, and since then they have been adapted with small motifs and today even metallic highlights to add further interest to this classic pattern. Trellis designs are often used to give a room interior a classic look, an almost gentrified country look.
