Made-to-measure cushions give you control over the proportions, fabric, filling and finishing details rather than asking you to compromise with a standard ready-made option.
Our workroom can make cushions from suitable fabrics across our designer collections, whether you want one statement cushion, a coordinated group for a sofa or additional pieces to bring together a wider furnishing scheme.
Pattern scale and placement are considered as part of the making process, particularly when working with distinctive embroideries, large motifs, stripes and other directional designs.

The finishing detail can completely change the character of a cushion. Keep the edge quiet with self piping, introduce contrast with a second fabric or add decorative passementerie where the design calls for something more distinctive.

Large-scale prints, embroideries and expressive patterns can become a focal point when the motif is positioned thoughtfully.

Details considered from the first cut to the final seam
Bespoke making starts with the fabric itself. The design, repeat, usable width and intended cushion size all influence how the cloth is measured and cut.
With patterned fabrics, extra material may be needed to achieve the required placement or coordination between cushions. The same care continues through construction and finishing, particularly where patterns need to align and piping needs to sit cleanly around the finished edge.
Decorative trims
Where suitable, cushions can be enhanced with trims chosen to complement the main fabric. Options can include:
- self or contrast piping
- decorative cord
- braid and applied borders
- fringe and other decorative edging
More elaborate trims are best discussed with us so that we can check suitability, quantities and how the trim will sit around the finished cushion.

Made-to-measure cushion questions
Can you make cushions in any fabric?
We can make cushions from a wide range of suitable fabrics, but not every fabric is appropriate for every application. If you are unsure, contact us with the fabric details and we can advise.
Can you help with pattern placement?
Yes. Pattern scale, repeat and placement can be considered when the fabric and design allow. Patterned fabrics can require additional material, particularly when several cushions need to coordinate.
What cushion fillings are available?
Feather and foam fillings are available. The best option depends on the look, level of support and maintenance you prefer.
Can you add piping, braid or fringe?
Yes, subject to the chosen fabric, trim and construction. Self piping, contrast piping, decorative cord, braid, borders and fringe can all be considered. More decorative treatments are best quoted individually.
Can I order a bespoke cushion online?
The Cushion Module is available for suitable specifications on eligible fabric product pages. If your cushion needs a non-standard size, specialist trim or other bespoke detail, contact us for advice and a quotation.
Do you make other soft furnishings?
Yes. Alongside cushions, we can make throws, quilts, bed valances, tablecloths and tie-backs. Quilts are currently quoted individually, with an online Quilt Module planned.
