Paperweave Wallpaper
Explore designer paperweave wallpaper and woven paper wallcoverings chosen for their tactile structure, subtle variation and refined handcrafted character. Paper strips or paper yarns are woven into the surface, often on a backing, creating depth without the stronger irregularity associated with many natural grasscloths.
Order samples where available to compare weave, colour and sheen in your own light, and check the individual product specification for width, pattern match, backing and hanging instructions before ordering.

Woven paper wallcoverings
What Makes Paperweave Wallpaper Different?
Paperweave wallpaper is created by weaving narrow strips or yarns of paper into a textile-like surface before mounting the weave onto a suitable backing. The result has genuine texture and depth rather than simply printing the appearance of a woven material onto a flat wallpaper.
Woven construction
The visible weave is part of the wallcovering itself, creating subtle changes in texture, shadow and colour as light moves across the wall.
Natural variation
Small differences in weave, tone and joins can be characteristic of woven wallcoverings rather than something that should necessarily disappear after installation.
Paperweave vs grasscloth
Grasscloth generally uses plant fibres such as sisal, jute or grasses, whereas paperweave uses prepared paper strips or yarns to create its woven surface.

Ordering Paperweave Wallpaper
Paperweave wallcoverings are not all supplied or installed in the same way. Specialist designs may be sold by the roll or linear metre and can vary considerably in width, backing and pattern match.
Some woven wallcoverings are intended to be reverse hung, while others use a free or straight match. Adhesive and wall preparation can also differ according to the backing and construction.
For that reason, the manufacturer's instructions for the exact design should always take precedence over a general wallpapering method.
Before ordering, check the width, supply format, pattern match, backing, recommended adhesive and whether reverse hanging is specified. If you are unsure, TM Interiors can help you identify the relevant product information.

More Textured & Natural Wallcoverings
Paperweave sits between the refined regularity of a woven paper surface and the more organic character of many natural fibres. Explore related wallcoverings if you are comparing different ways to introduce texture, weave and material interest to a room.
