Following the success of the Morris Pure North wallpaper range, Morris and Co Pure Wallpaper collection enhances the style of that collection to come up with a range that consists of eight designs that experiment with beading, crushed glass techniques and scale. These iconic designs are in a pared back, neutral palette, whilst maintaining the intricacies and integrity of the originals. Drawing on his values of craftsmanship and expertly executed patterns, this collection is one of pure simplicity, pure sophistication. This enchantingly beautiful wallpaper collection recreates some of William Morris’ finest originals dating back to the 1800's. Such as Pure Bachelors Button Wallpaper which originally took inspiration from medieval wall murals, hear the Morris & Co. design studio have enlarged Bachelors Button (1892) pattern in showstopping scale and painted it in the style of medieval frescos with dramatic effect, creating a wallpaper which is 140 cm wide. Pure Acorn is a beautifully pared back representation of acorn branches created using the original wooden Morris & Co. hand printing blocks but sits very well within the Pure collection of papers. Pure Lodden Wallpaper is also a contemporary large scale Morris wallpaper which is a simplified version of the original fabric design from 1884, and the artwork was created by screen printing and mixing different inks and colours by hand to great effect. Another showstopper is Pure Net Ceiling wallpaper and is one of only five ceiling papers created by Morris & Co that depicts cornice work in delightful fashion, this pattern has been machine printed for the first time. Three of the papers within the collection were designed using hand-block methods, whilst the others have been repainted in intricate detail to capture the nature of the original designs.
