Marie Bathellier is an artist living and painting on the Isle of Yeu off the Atlantic coast of France, and this is the Atlantic rugs by Louis De Poortere. Surf, sand and driftwood are Marie’s daily source of inspiration and so this inspiration has been transformed into two rug designs for Louis De Poortere rugs. Aptly named Surf rug and Ocean. The Surf rug with it’s abstract design expresses movement and is available in three colour options, while the Ocean rug design has seen calmer waters with its loose striped running vertically, again available in three colour options. Over a century of skill and craftsmanship is woven into every rug they produce. Woven on jacquard looms with cotton chenille yarns, each beautiful rug has multiple layers of texture, distressed areas and intricate stitching detail to give a true ‘vintage’ look.
