Sanderson Caverley Fabric

Sanderson Fabrics Caverley Collection
Sanderson Caverley is a collection of prints inspired by 18th and 19th century linen and cotton prints from the Sanderson archive. English wood-block prints, French Toiles, Exotic Indian block prints, and Chinese hand-painted silks are among the classic designs synonymous with Sanderson signature look of quintessential English decoration. Among the fabrics of this luxurious collection is the Adele Fabric, a faithful reproduction of a late 19th century French copper roller design. It has been re-engraved directly from the original fabric and portrays loose bouquets of peonies. This design retains the delicate transparency of the original with each bunch of flowers widely spaced giving this print a graceful and uncluttered feel. The design of Aesops Fables was taken from a multi-coloured print from Mulhouse in France dating to the 19th century. This adaptation was painted in monotone colours first and then the painted design was pressed onto damp linen transferring the textures of the pattern. The most colourful pattern of the collection, the Midsummer Rose, is a print that has been adapted from a 1920's 1930's block-printed linen from Sanderson's Eton Rural collection and shows a bold semi-abstract pattern of roses honeysuckle and foliage in a loose bunch. Please view also the Tiger Stripe Print Fabric, a Sanderson classic dating from 1970s. This ticking stripe is printed on 100% cotton in seven colourways.
