Escale by Elitis is an adventurous journey in textile form, a vibrant stopover that draws inspiration from sub-Saharan Africa. It is a collection that flees the mundane for a world of lively, invigorating geometric patterns that are as precious as they are mobile. These fabrics reflect the trails of nomadic objects and age-old weaves, paying homage to the craftsmanship of the Shoowas or Yorubas, as well as conversing with street art in Dakar. With sunny strolls and fabulous escapades undulating on our atlas, the Escale collection is a color block composition that steps aside for textured embroideries, sharing the same ground of ancestral fibers like linen, wool, cotton, and jute. The warm tones of fire and earth radiate vibrations of emerald, intense blue, saffron, and orange blossom. This collection revisits fabrics from several African regions while giving a voice to embroidery and weaving, contrasting the eclecticism of techniques and stitches used with the simplicity of geometric patterns, also obtained through printing.
