Perfect Pairings: Matching Wallpaper & Fabric Collections Spring/Summer 2022

Sanderson Matching Fabric & Wallpapers
The starting point for any matching fabric and wallpaper collection has to be Sanderson, they are a brand which have built their reputation through the use of stylishly coordinated fabric and wallpaper collections. This season's offering from Sanderson was the wonderful Water Garden, which we covered in a previous article, which includes both a fabric and wallpaper collection as you would expect.
The Water Garden collection offers a range of matching Chinoiserie fabrics and wallpapers including:
- Amara Butterfly (shown above) - featuring colourful butterflies amidst a lush exotic foliage in a design inspired by a 19th century Chinese embroidery. Available in 2 matching colourways with an additional wallpaper colourway.
- Bamboo & Bird - a delicate design of exotic birds perch amongst bamboo, wisteria and hibiscus foliage all finished with a Japanese inspired hand block printed look. Available in 2 matching colourways with an additional third wallpaper option.

Designers Guild Matching Fabrics and Wallpapers
The Chinese influence of traditional porcelain design was the inspiration for this season's matching fabric and wallpaper collection from Designers Guild, Porcelaine de Chine. Released as both a wallpaper and fabric collection there are plenty of choices for matching fabrics and papers.
Matching fabrics and papers in the Porcelain de Chine collections include:
- Porcelaine de Chine (main image above) - the fabric which gives its name to the collection is a stunning trailing branch design with colourful flowers and exotic birds. Available in 5 matching colourways with additional wallpaper colourways.
- Fleur Oriental (shown above) - the blossom and leaves design makes for a stunning wallpaper mural with its largescale design and can be complemented with curtains and cushions in the matching linen fabric. Available in 2 matching colourways.
- Pergola Trellis - the fabric and wallpaper designs for Pergola Trellis are designed to compliment each other rather than be an exact match. The simple trellis design of the wallpaper features additional bands of colour when picked up in the fabric.
- Jardin Botanique Wallpaper and the matching fabric Jardin Botanique Grande Peony (both shown below) - a lovely large scale floral design of painterly roses, camelias and foliage set against a softly chalky ground. Available in 2 matching colourways.
Romo Matching Fabrics and Wallpapers
Nature provides the inspiration for the latest matching wallpaper and fabric collection from Romo. The Pluma wallcovering collection is designed to pair with the Pluma Decorative Prints & Embroideries fabric collection.

- Pluma (shown above) - a delicate trailing design with colourful birds perched on branches with small exotic blossoms. Available in two matching fabric and wallpaper colourways with three additional wallpaper options as well.

We have already covered the exciting collaboration between Harlequin and London based Artist Diane Hill which was the basis for Harlequin's Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The contemporary Chinoise style of Diane Hill resulted in a stunning colleciton of wallpapers and fabrics all designed to coordinate with each other.

- Ella (pictured above) - a sleek contemporary interpretation of a trailing branch chinoiserie design is brought to life with a delicate but modern colourset. Available in three matching colourways.
- Marsha - a bold bouquet of poppies and peonies was the inspiration for this contemporary floral design. Available in two matching colourways with an additional fabric option as well.
