Morris and Co Archive IV Purleigh Weaves Fabrics
Morris and Co Purleigh Weaves is a rich compendium of upholstery weight fabrics inspired by Morris’ passion for understanding the craftsmanship of the past and the East, this collection of fabrics includes adaptations of his stunning hand knotted carpets, as well as the Eastern textiles, found complementing Morris fabrics and wallpapers in the interiors of Standen and Wightwick Manor. The Montreal fabric design available as both a weave and velvet fabric finish, the design itself was one of the most understated, yet the most woven of all of the oriental-style carpets produced by Morris & Co which the design took inspiration from, but actually designed by John Henry Dearle, and is part of the Archive IV collection, this fabric has been presented in a number of colour options. The Purleigh fabric is an oversized, chunky chenille basket weave, the perfect complement to much of Morris' statement patterns. Dearle is also a hardwearing, tactile dry linen chenille augments the Morris range and is available in nine colourways. While Bellflowers Weave has been derived from the Bellflowers print, but this is a versatile, mixed-chenille jacquard and available in five options. All of these versatile upholstery fabrics are suitable for general domestic upholstery and are perfectly complemented by the Morris and Co Archive IV fabric collection, and wallpaper range.
