When the words ‘colour’ and ‘pattern’ are used to describe a British deign brand, Designers Guild will almost certainly spring to mind. Celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2020, the iconic lifestyle brand is a vibrant party of colour, pattern and texture.
The Out of the Blue: 50 Years of Designers Guild exhibition, which is running at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London until February 2021 is a celebration of Tricia Guild’s contribution to interior design.
Beginning life as a small section of a single shop in Chelsea’s Kings Road in 1970, Designers Guild has evolved and grown into a global enterprise, helping to change the way in which people view colour, pattern and texture in their homes.
Founded by Tricia Guild OBE, the company is headed and owned by herself along with her brother Simon Jeffreys.
Throughout the brand’s 50 years Tricia Guild’s vision has been to create a ‘lifestyle’, and to show people how to put the different elements of a room together; how colour and pattern, texture and form come together to create a harmonious space that is full of personality and character.
Tricia continues to inspire through her talks, books and now online she not only discusses the new collections launched by Designers Guild, but also provides tips and tricks on how to create a moodboard, a must watch.
