Now into the New Year and with trade shows approaching many of our designer brands prepare for the launch of their new collections, here is just a quick round up of news from some of designer fabric houses.
Designers Guild Fabrics
Designers Guild and their collective of labels including Ralph Lauren, Christian Lacroix and William Yeoward, have a number of collections coming out in this New Year. As independent as ever, Tricia Guild for Designers Guild leads with Shanghai fabrics and wallpapers, which will probably be out late January before the rest of the pack launch their collections around February and Spring time.
A sneak preview plus a clue in the title says the Shanghai fabric collection gets some oriental inspiration much like Nina Campbell’s Cathay Collection from last year.
As already quickly reviewed here Zoffany build on their luxury fabric and wallpaper collections with Constantina Damask fabrics and wallpapers.
Romo fabrics have a floral print that is rumoured to be extra special and is due for launch this year, and looking at preview images it surely can only be from the Saphira collection.
Some contemporary prints then, that have an almost water coloured look from Romo fabrics, and if we are not mistaken features an interpretation of Magnolia flower. Harlequin fabrics had a Magnolia in their recent Momentum 5 & 6 fabrics (see below), Nina Campbell had one in her Cathay Collection and Designers Guild forthcoming Shanghai features a Magnolia, so a popular design for floral prints at the moment this year, or a popular flower should we say, and in time for spring…
Kitson stripes are also due to launch with the Saphira fabric collection, featuring some classic stripes in that classic Romo style with small scale weaves.
No news from Romo Black fabrics yet, but with three great collections behind them, and receiving some praise in the press in terms of awards, and with only one launch scheduled per year I am sure they are taking their time to ensure the quality of the collections does not drop.
Both Romo and Designers Guild fly the flag for the UK during Paris Deco Off so be sure to check out their new collections, aswell as Mark Alexander at the event.
Already have announced their Vintage 2 fabric collection featuring an “eclectic mix of cottage florals and whimsical patterns”. Any Magnolia’s? Not sure….
Talking of Paris Deco Off and France. The cultural house of Pierre Frey celebrate their 80th anniversary of the design house. Having participated in the exceptional renovation of the Louvre Museum they are holding private visit and will no doubt showcase their new collection of Origines at Paris Deco Off.
French fabric house Elitis will also be found at Paris Deco Off showcasing their Out Of Africa collection of designer fabrics and wallpapers. Another brands collection revealing African/Tribal influences this year.
Of course Casamance fabrics will also be presenting at the show
Aswell and expected Nobilis will be there to showcase their new range of designer wallpapers and fabrics
Zimmer and Rohde
Can also be found at Paris exhibiting their luxury wallpaper collection and fabrics launched towards the end of 2014.
Osborne and Little
One more company flying the UK flag during Paris week will be Osborne and Little and their associate brand Lorca fabrics showcasing their Spring collections which at this time we are non the wiser on, but be sure to visit them at their showroom Osborne & Little, 7 rue de Furstemberg Paris 75006.
So there you go Paris Deco Off is certainly the place to be at the start of the year for seeing all the latest and greatest designer fabric and wallpaper ranges.
If you do go then Bon voyage.
